Forgotten Tracks

Where the grass may grow and lights may dim but the memories never fade.

Ozark Vintage Stock Car Racing Association

Are a group of guys interested in preserving, restoring and racing the old coupes and sedans that are 1948 and older. These cars raced in the Ozark area in the 50s, 60s and early 70s. They restore the old racers using period correct parts except for safety items, they do use modern seats, belts an shoulder harness, fuel cells ect. Each car has to pass safety inspection to race on todays tracks. But their rules are flathead V8s and 6 cylinders only, no modern overhead valve V8 engines. There are vintage races all over the US except in the mid-west area. They're just getting started in this area but are getting more members all the time. So far they have 5 cars finished and running with several more under construction.

Here's some photos from the Ozark Vintage Stock Car Racing Association - I hope to soon have some more great photos to share with you all.

The two following photos were taken 38 years apart and come from Andy Anderson - The photo of the #27 was taken at US 30 speedway in Columbus, Nebraska during the Corn Husker Nationals in September of 2005, And was Terry Walker's first race car, it ran in the novice class at Thunderbird Speedway in Muskogee, Oklahoma. That car was given to Andy Anderson and he restored it to the condition which it's in today.
