Sooner Speedway also known as Sallisaw Speedway ran from 1967 - 1974 on Friday nights, which was an advantage to the racers because once the races were over they could travel to nearby Crawford County Speedway in Van Buren or Razorback Speedway in Fort Smith.
The track was still in tact until a few years back when the land owner dozed it all down due to the amount of traffic coming to see the track.
